my views on iphone6

apple launched its bigger,brighter and slimmer iphone ever yesterday at flint centre in CA with a feature packed presentation

even though the live stream, is available for people having apples devices i somehow watched the event thanks to the streaming link provided by some good guy

ip6 comes in two sizes 4.7inch screen and 5.5inch 

                                  

 

design:

im sorry to say that this is the ugliest iphone ever designed.the evolution of iphone is mostly based on design and distinct features. it has been evolving since the iphone3 then iphone4 and then comes iphone5 which i think is the best designed phone ever.when we compare iphone6 and 6plus to ip4 and ip5 it deff looks a bit ugly.i wonder why apple made a phone with larger screen,stevejobs and apples design philosophy are always against it…. i still remember all the ads apple made mocking samsung for making phones with bigger screen

design itself is kinda discriminating the companies design philosopphy while the stream is going on htc posted a tweet mocking apple for making larger screen phones comparing iphones design to their flagship m8 which are identical in design.yes u heard it right apple copied its back panel from m8.while the ip6 is 6.9mm thick ip6+ is 7.1mm thick

hardware:

if there is anything which deserves an applause in the whole iphone6 its the hardware apple is using the most advanced 64 bit chip A8 paired with a media chip m8 which are clear winners when compared to other chips out there in the market. apple ran a game live in the launch event which boasted to play at 1080p.

display needs a big applause as it looked stunning even though its only 720p the colours were vibrant and texts were sharp 

                           

 

 

camera:

apple didnt change much when it comes to camera its till uses an 8mp camera with lens optical stabilization and as we all know apple mastered camera and they have done it again.(i expected 13mp camera

storage:

ip6 and 6+ comes in 3 storage capacities 16gb,64gba nd 128gb

 

price:u have to either start crowd funding or start something like ice bucket challenge to buy it or u can sell a kidney choice is urs lol

whats with the sapphire display??

those who are following iphone leaks closely will come across this word quite often as this kinda display will sport on upcoming iphone.it is boasted as the strongest and much more durable than corning gorilla glass which is widely used as of now

iphoe5 already uses sapphire glass but not as display but to cover the camera lens and the home button.so now they are gonna use it for display too

whats with the sapphire glass??

vertu the luxary phones brand were the first to adopt sapphire display on there constellation which makes their phones scratch and breakage proof upto some extent. fyi the only thing harder than sapphire is diamond so yeah its strong eneough but it is yet unclear how strong it is as we dont have any droptest results

corning gorilla glass which looked concerned about this uploaded a new video where sapphire and gorilla glass went head on head and surprisingly gorilla glass won.according to that video sapphire glass could only withstand 166lbs of force on it while gorilla glass withstood 450lbs of force.

i wonder why apple is using a sapphire display when gorilla glass is working fine we all know apple earns a lot on repairs they charge about 200$ for an outwarrantied phone neither im saying that they wants to break ur phone and earn on it

Why Is It So Useful?

It is very hard. On the Mohs scale of mineral hardness corundum is a 9 and the scale runs from 1 to 10. 1 is talc, quartz is 7, corundum is 9 and diamond is hardest at 10

is it expensive?

yes it is when comapred to corninmg gorilla glass as sapphire should be manufactured artificially and then add it to the glass but if it is produced on a large scale it can be competetive

iphone6 price leak

while everyopne are busy watching live stream of IFA which is going on at berlin some guy from hongkong quietly leaked iphone6 prices

According to the leak listing of prices, the iPhone 6 with 5.5-inch display is unsurprisingly more expensive (it is rumored to have more powerful hardware on board). It is reportedly priced at 7,923 HKD  for a 16GB model, 8,931 HKD  for a 32GB unit, and 9,687 HKD for a device with 64GB of memory

                        .                                                             when converting the prices to inr the 4.6inch screen varient costs 61000 and the 5.5 inch varient costs upto 71000 with these high prices im sure that apple will loose a large segment of buyers who are loyal

apple will be unveiling the iphone this week so we dont have to wait long for the official prices

to those who dont know about google x its nothing but the divison which researches and developes advanced gadgets in google there are many awesome products already developed by them ex:glass and driverless cars.so lets see what next is on line

project ara was started in 2011 with the main aim to make a phone which can be easily upgradable.everything in it can be swapped starting from camera to processor simply all we have to do is swap the tile.we can customize it as we wish depending on the mood and place we are going.if u are going to a party u can sport a high res camera and loud speakers but when u are going on a long journey u can swap the small battery with bigger ones and the best thing is u can customize the t iles too awesome isnt it

its an open internet project.main aim is to provide internet wirelessly to a particular area using a baloon or a floating object.this has been under development since a couple of years these baoons circle around the stratosphere providing internet around the area they are floating so i guess theres no need for internet topups on mobiles in near future

actually googlex didnt start this project but hired leading researchers who have been working on this project for years  these smart contact lenes hich adjust accoringly to the atmosphere and checkssugar levels of diabeteic patience regularly..believe me it has a processor embedded to it so ppl with eyesight can ditch there galsses and flaunt wearing google contact lens

consoles vs pc

If u are a avid gamer u will come across many posts where console & pc gamers go head on head.

as a child i spent most of my childhood on consoles playing mario and donkeykong whhich are still my favourites and then my dad bought a pc running on pentium4 even though i knew nothing about it other than paint i somehow managed to install roadrash the first time i played it i was awestruck by watching the gfx and gameplay which were very much better than the tvconsoles

but these days console market is growing faster due to the exclusivity.the one console which made console gaming awesome is ps2 even though i didnt had the chance to use it i visited my friends place often just to play smackdown and god of war which were console exclusives and then comes ps3 which i think is the best when it comes to gfx and line up of awesome games like uncharted and lastofus which took the gameplay to another level

even though im a console player im strictly against exclusivity pc is suffering a lot these days due to the downgraded graphics recently ubisoft released watchdogs with downgraded gfx just to make it look better on consoles which raked up lot of criticism from pc gamers.the only reason game studios are not concentrated on pc gaming is cuz of piracy yeah it is lot easier to download and play pirated games on pc as theres no restrictions but when it comes to consoles u cant do that unless u jailbreak ur console which is a pain in the arse

i got a chance to play crysis3 on a highend pc i feel that it is the only game which used the full potential of pcs while it looked a bit gloomy on my playstation.yes pc gaming is immersive when compared to consoles only when u have a highend pc

i hope gamestudios will make pc exclusives which uses their hardware to the maximum in that way pc will always remain the master race in gaming community or else consoles will take over which i dont want to happen

for tech geeks september is like a carnival as most reputed companies often lauch their flagships and new devices at this time of the year and this september the tech war is gonna be more intense. so to all u tech lovers out there this sept has a lots of good stuff for u

im gonna list out all the product and os launches this september so mark ur calenders buddies

First, there’s the Samsung Unpacked Event Episode 2 (this being their 2nd unpacked event this year) scheduled for September 3rd in Berlin with simultaneous events in New York and Beijing. The Galaxy Note 4 is the most anticipated device for Samsung fans, but there is also talk of both the Samsung Gear Solo (the mobile giant’s rumored stand-alone smart-watch) and Samsung Gear VR (their virtual reality headset running on Tizen OS), which is said to be an Oculus Rift competitor, but seems more of a Google VR type device. The word is that the headset will only work with Samsung’s high-end phones, like the Note 3 and S5.

September 4th is Motorola’s launch day in Chicago. Their invitation contains a four cornered, pillow-like animation depicting an X Phone, a G Phone, an earpiece of some kind and a watch face. Consequently, we’re expecting the Moto X+1 (this year’s update to the Moto X), the Moto 360 smart-watch (probably THE most anticipated device of 2014), an updated Moto G (Motorola’s most successful phone ever) and some type of earpiece device.

and now to the most awaited lauch yeah u guessed it right apple will be releasing their new iphone running on ios8 this september there have been news that they will also launch iwatch which is not confirmed yet

nexus6 rumoured specs

recently there have been rumours that google are going to kill nexus line of devices and will start making new line of devices codenamed SILVER

but recently a new device codenamed SHAMU which is rumoured to be the next nexus device turned up in the antutu benchmarks and the specs of it are as followed

the device codenamed SHAMU is made my motorola boasts of using a snapdragon 805 processor paired up with adreno 420 gpu and a 3gb RAM

as seen above the device is running on android L the yet to be released newer version of android and boasts to have a 5.2inch screen

with these specs the new nexus device will fight head to head with flagships like samsung s5 and htcs m8

and the latest new is that google are in tal;ks with hp to bring out a high end enterprice device but the talks have failed as google didnt accept the hardware offered by hp into the deal

3dimention

movies are the best source of entertainment and 3d movies have taken it to the next level as a child i watched a 3d movie and was very much fascinated about it but movies released with 3d are negligible those days even though some hollywood movies released there were no resources with the theatres to screen them

but in the past 5 years things have changed a lot with the advent of multiplexes and international brand theatres which give the best movie experience if u are ready to spend some bucks

while i was watching 3d movies at various theatres theres lot of differences when it comes to depth and pop out effects i then came to know that diff brands equip their theatres with diff 3d equipment

ex pvr equips their theatres with 2k 3d while cinepolis equips their screens with reald 3d and then comes imax3d which is boasted as the best

so now im gonna tell u about the difference in them

2k3d:

this is a bit older technology which is equiped by most of the screens as its easy to installa nd cost effective too but while screening the movie the audience will have a bit discomfort as screen dims a lot and will be a bit blurry sometimes.u have to watch the screen in a particular angle to get the most of it but if u get ur seat in the corner u will deff miss out most of the 3d effects.the same thing happened while i was watching guardians of galaxy at pvr recently.

reald3d:

this is the latest technology and is employed by all cinepolis multiplexes across india in my experience i found this better than imax3d as the screen didnt blur or dim even though i was sitting in the corner.i could experience all the effects in any angle without any hazzles.the depth of the movie will be good but pop out effects will be a bit of let down when compared to imax3d

imax3d:

even though my city doesnt have imax screens i watched a movie at imax hyderabad i have to agress that its one of a kind experience there were more pop out effects when compared to reald3d but when it comes to depth reald 3d is the clear winner.only con in it is that it is not cost effective and exclusive to some particular theatres

i personally prefer realD 3d as it gives the best 3d experience overall

Good guy motorola

As we all know the mid range phone market is hard to crack for all mobile manufacturers cuz of aggressive pricing along with good features so it became a bit hard for consumers to decide what to buy
But one device stood out of all u guessed it right its MOTO G which was released by Motorola the then Google owned company (lenovo bought it now though)
What makes moto g the best in this price range?
I will not boast about it specs but FYI it runs on a snapdragon 400 processor with 1gb ram which most of phones have in this price range
I loved the way Motorola cut off all the unnecessary things like there no expandable external storage feature which is bit of a let down but 16gb variant is enough with some adjustments
The best thing about motoG is its price as moto used ecommerce as a platform to sell their phone which indirectly made this phone cheaper
The thing about selling ur product on ecommerce is there will be no dealership profits and end store profits which adds 20% extra to its price
And no marketing costs too ex Samsung spends 20% on each mobile for marketing where as Motorola did there marketing by mouth talk and contests on twitter and Facebook
Moto boasts of a nano coating which make motog splash proof and i personally tested it believe me my phone survived 10 mins under tap
And the bestest thing is the timely updates of android by Motorola so far they did a great job when compared to other manufacturers in this price range
We got updates jus the way nexus did as a tech geek I luv using newer versions quicker than others
And yeah motoe motog and motox all are confirmed for androidL which will tool out this fall
The recently released xiaomi mi3 is giving a tough fight but I choose moto over it cuz xiaomi will never let out their sourcecode which means u can’t root ur mobile and install custom ROMs which is a must for all the devs  and there have been news that redmi by xiaomi is feeding Chinese servers with personal info so think twice before buying BTW these two phones
Last words:if u want good specs and a high end phone in low price go for xiaomi
But if u want timely updates with moto support and awesome build go for motog

My views on android L

 

Android L is a complete overhaul of the previous versions… while they used halo theme the new update will be using material design which is first of its kind.the first time i saw the L preview on google i/o i fell in love with it and waited for google to release the dev preview.goog guy google released it the very next day and i falshed it on my nexus which i mostly use for experimenting purposes

if u wanna flash it on ur nexus device rmr that dev preview is not yet fully functional and there are lots of bugs which google will fix hopefully when they release final built android L

android L adopted new theme ui which is called Material design i found it sleek and beautiful than ios u can choose btw two themes light material and dark material themes.i found light theme visually beautiful when compared to other.the colours are rich and material is the maetaphor switching btw the apps is easy and os is more robust excluding the bugs its awesome

google even released APIs for developer to modify their apps to use the functionality and design of material design… and google updated the play store and play games apps which are using material design now while chromes materialdesign overhaul is still in beta testing

and now to the notifications:

we have to agree that google always won over apples ios when it comes to notifications and they have done it again but this time it will be even more harder for apple to catch up

Android L directly displays notifications on lock screen in card layout and u can interact with them directly and the thing i found interesting is heads up notifications if u are playing a game and someone calls teh game wont get interrupted but a popup in a card layout on the top of ur screen from which u can ignore or take the call same happens with texts

widgets:

google employed two versions of widget views

1)recycler view which is latest version of list view

2)card view which displays info in the card with consistent look and feel

and now animations:

this is the best part of Android L they are sleek and smooth as androidL runs by default on ART(android runtime) ditching dalvik

in material design animations and shadows contribute a lot in making the design much more beautiful

most animations are in curved motion and i liked the animation which comes up with touch feedback i doubt that low end phopnes will have a hard time with these animations as their processors cant handle them that good

project volta:

while google boasted about project volta at the i/o conference which highly optimizes apps and increases battery life by 20% i have tested it and it didnt work as google said but theres improvement in battery life

android was lagging when compared to apples ios in terms of design but android L will fight head on head with ios8
